Cricket Ridge Animal Hospital is a full service veterinary practice, offering wellness examinations, surgery, dentistry, radiology, lab work, pharmacy, microchipping and more.  Below is a description of some of the services we provide.

As the old saying goes, “An ounce of prevention is worth a pound of cure.”  This is especially true of our pets, because unlike people, they can’t tell you when they hurt or when they don’t feel right.  Once a year checkups with your veterinarian can discover small problems that can be dealt with quickly, instead of allowing a problem to go untreated until it is too late.

In many cases medicine alone is not enough.  Whether it’s a routine spay or neuter for your dog or cat, or a more serious medical problem, Cricket Ridge Animal Hospital’s staff has the experience, knowledge, and capability to provide the best possible outcome.

Just like in humans, our pets overall health is directly related to how well their teeth and gums are cared for.  We can show you how to brush your pet’s teeth to help keep them bright and healthy, and keep bad breath away.  Once per year, during your pet’s annual wellness exam, the veterinarian will examine his/her mouth for overall health.  If a problem is found, we have the right tools to diagnose and correct any dental problem.  In our brand new dental suite, we have state-of-the-art digital X-ray and specialized equipment for properly cleaning your pet’s teeth to help maintain a healthy life.

Without the right tools, it can be difficult to diagnose a problem with your pet.  Cricket Ridge Animal Hospital has state-of-the-art digital X-Ray equipment that we use to investigate and diagnose internal problems like bone fractures, bladder stones, and more commonly, foreign bodies.  What’s a foreign body?  This is when your pet has eaten something it shouldn’t have – and it causes a blockage that can be very serious.  Digital X-Ray can pinpoint the issue and help guide a treatment plan.

Cricket Ridge Animal Hospital has a complete in-house pharmacy to serve all your pet’s medical needs.  The advantage of using our in-house pharmacy is that, unlike online sources, we know where the medications come from and you can rest assured that your pet will receive genuine medications.  Our pharmacy prices are very competitive.

If your pet’s collar breaks or its collar tag falls off or becomes hard to read, a microchip permanently identifies your pet to help your pet get back to you if it’s lost or stolen.  At your next visit, ask your veterinarian about microchipping your beloved pet, so that he/she can be recovered if the unthinkable happens.  Any time a lost pet is brought into our hospital, we scan for a microchip and have been able to reunite many lost pets with their relieved owners.

It is inevitable that your pet will age, but they too can do so gracefully. With proper planning, diet and regular checkups, your pet can live out a healthy life.  We specialize in senior pet wellness plans, which includes food selection, dietary supplements, exercise tips and blood and other lab work that can help manage the aging process.

It’s also not true that you can’t teach an old dog new tricks!
